How is Sculptra different from HA fillers?
Traditional HA fillers are made of hyaluronic acid—a smooth, gel-like substance—and results are immediate. Sculptra, on the other hand, is made of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) and works by stimulating the body’s natural collagen production. For this reason, results are gradual over a period of time and a series of treatments.
Is Sculptra better than other collagen boosting products?
Yes! Although collagen creams and supplements are trending right now, they are not as effective.
Collagen creams do not fully penetrate to the dermis, where collage production occurs. Therefore, most topical treatments are only effective as moisturizers that temporarily improve the skin's appearance.
When collagen supplements pass through the digestive system, the collagen proteins are broken down. According to various studies, it’s uncertain whether the body can effectively boost collagen production when this happens.
